Who is connected
in parking?

The payment app, parking operator and machine supplier can be different businesses. Here are the ownership and service links we can document—and what they tell us about the registration disputes.

01 · Ownership and group membership

Arrive, YourParkingSpace, ParkMaven and RingGo are connected.

The brand is YourParkingSpace. It belongs to the Arrive group, alongside RingGo and Flowbird. Companies House records YourParkingSpace as controlling ParkMaven. These are group relationships between distinct businesses and brands, rather than all names for one legal company.

Holding companies, investors and the source trail

YourParkingSpace Ltd (08670309) lists Motion UK Bidco Ltd as holding at least 75% of shares and voting rights. This is an intermediate legal entity; Arrive’s own announcement establishes the broader group connection. YourParkingSpace control record.

Arrive identifies Verdane, Vitruvian Partners and Searchlight Capital as its investment-firm backers. Arrive’s governance page.

Companies House publishes filed information; a significant-control record is not necessarily a complete shareholder list. Ownership and commercial arrangements can change.

03 · What the site evidence actually identifies

Similar-looking machines need a closer comparison.

KentOnline provides evidence of Metric equipment in KCC’s country-park estate. The Carlisle report identifies Flowbird at one Initial Parking site. Neither identifies the manufacturer of the Abersoch machine involved in my case.

Euro Car Parks
KentOnline’s 4 September 2025 report quotes KCC naming Metric and describing remote checks and engineer support. KCC said there were no ongoing keypad faults. Kent’s later machine trialsThe 28 February 2026 follow-up describes upgraded terminals at Pegwell Bay and Trosley, plus a solar-powered trial at White Horse Wood. Both operators on Metric’s listMetric’s published service customer list includes Euro Car Parks and Initial Parking.Which sites and products the service arrangements cover. No shared defect is established by the customer list.

Flowbird equipment varies too

Its terminal range includes keyboard and touchscreen designs. The listed Strada S5 and StreetSmart S5 even use different operating systems. A common brand, similar cabinet or familiar payment screen does not establish identical software.

04 · Operators and ownership

Where do Initial Parking and Euro Car Parks fit?

No Arrive ownership connection for either operator was established by the sources checked. The recorded control relationships are:

Initial Parking Ltd

Company 11760551 lists Benjamin Richard Johnson as its active person with significant influence or control. That category does not specify a share percentage. Companies House record ↗

Euro Car Parks Ltd

Company 01270612 lists ECP (Holdings) plc as its active entity with significant influence or control. Operator record ↗

The holding company’s record lists Barry Tucker with at least 75% of shares and voting rights, and Rita Tucker with significant influence or control.

Preventing the next dispute

Why take payment before checking the registration?

Connected terminals already exist. The next question is which safeguards were enabled: did the machine check the entry, match an ANPR arrival and confirm the vehicle before accepting payment? The industry code also addresses technology to reduce keying errors.

05 · The question still to answer

Could the two-character problem have the same cause?

It could, but the links above do not demonstrate that. A shared component or configuration is a hypothesis to test. Different systems can also produce similar symptoms. These are possible explanations to investigate, not findings about any named supplier:

  1. Input or payment sequence. Compare whether the full registration was captured and confirmed before payment, using the exact model and settings.
  2. Receipt formatting. Compare the printed receipt with the stored transaction: a short printout need not mean a short stored registration.
  3. Transmission or matching. Compare the terminal record, supplier export and operator import to find where any discrepancy first appears.

Useful evidence would include dated machine photographs showing its model plate, firmware and configuration records, transaction-level audit logs and supplier incident reports for the affected dates. Until then, the documented conclusion is shared company groups and supplier relationships, with the cause of the Abersoch record still unresolved.
